Love

A selection of work based on the theme of love, using my hand-made paper and brush-painted lettering.

In 2007 I was commissioned to make a piece of work as a wedding gift from Peak District Artisans to their patron William, Earl of Burlington and his wife Laura. I made two heart shapes in hand-made paper, with lettering painted in gouache with a fine brush. Since this commission, I have gone on to make many heart pieces, using various texts from sources which inspire me. All the work shown here uses hand-made paper, acrylic and gouache paint.

The theme of love occurs throughout my work and I am often attracted to using text which describes or hints at some of the powerful emotions which may surface during relationships.
