I am interested in creating work which is three-dimensional and which ‘tells a story’. For example, I wanted the spotted dress, which I made out of paper, to have a life of its own with its own past, to have a bold presence but also to be slightly distressed to symbolise how memories and feelings associated with the dress may have been revisited by the owner over and over again.

The memories have inevitably faded, but the dress remains. It hangs on its hanger, giving hints of the body that wore it all those years ago.

The dress is created with pieces of hand-made paper made using recycled paper. It is painted with acrylic paint and rubbed with pastels.
The buttons are recycled from another garment.
